Why alternative energy cost matters to you?

The energy conversation these days is centered around the costs to convert and maintain alternative energy plants. Most of us are on the side lines, allowing our elected officials to make those decisions, but you must understand why alternative energy cost matters to you. Hopefully you will gain a new perspective and take action.

This article will not address the detail costs of design, building , transition, and maintenance. What I would like to focus on is the cost to you, the end user of these new plants and farms. Many of these projects are funded by bonds that have to be paid back with interest. Who pays it? So what we are looking at is the cost of development plus repayment of the bonds and of course a profit margin for the utility company.

Solar Panels

I don't know all of the science and finance, but I do know the character of utility companies, wall street and governmental agencies. They are unpredictable and subject to stark swings that make no sense. Most of the times the changes are in directions not in our favor. We all agree that we as a people must pursue alternative energy, but maybe it is time we think globally and act locally(at your house).

Most of us are paying a bundle for electricity currently. This is only going to get worst before it improves. Many utility companies are looking for ways to improve their profitability. Again who pays? The government has created many incentives for those who can afford it to get out of this loop. We all need to evaluate how much we can participate in these programs. Reduction should be our watch word. If we as home owners can reduce our usage from the power company by 25% to total elimination we should go for it. The costs have come down and if you are a "do it yourself-er", it is very affordable.

As you can see many of the costs being discussed in the public media are not giving the whole story. The impact to you is always greater than expressed by politicians. I hope you get the picture and understand why alternative energy cost matters to you.

Enjoy colorado green energy

After reading this article, those of you who live in the Colorado area can also enjoy Colorado green energy. According to the statistics, your state receives approximately 300 days of sunshine. That is an opportunity to save big.

The sun cost nothing to use. It is more dependable than your utility company and it is not political. If we are able to use the energy from the sun, we are no longer at the whims of others such as market profiteers, sheiks and governmental budget fluctuations. Doesn't that spell relief?

Solar Panels

Solar panels have no moving parts and are virtually maintenance free. They last a long time, so any initial investment pays over and over again. The technology for solar panels is exploding, so costs are becoming mute. The panels are affordable by for more home owners than ever before.

Advantages also include financial benefits. There are federal, state and local incentives for improving your energy consumption, tax credits, home improvement credits and more. It would be well worth the effort to find out what financial incentives are available in your area. You may be shocked. Of course, the joy of reducing or eliminating your electric bill is almost incentive enough, but in some areas the added potential to be paid for your excess electricity is better than the lottery.

Solar Panels

There are some solar power disadvantages, night and cloudy weather. There is no electricity produced at night, but there are solutions available. Cloudy weather is an issue in a few areas, but in your area the potential is outstanding because you get good sun exposure almost year round. Even if there is a problem with cloudy weather, there could still be a financial advantage to solar. It would depend on how many consumption reduction days available per year.

As you can see, the solar power advantages make Colorado green energy an attractive proposition. In the past only the rich could take advantage of energy technology. Today with all of the incentives and low cost many can afford it. If you are tired of being a pawn of the utility companies, wall street profiteers, and geopolitical situations, a serious look at solar power is a must. You can get some good ideas at: Solar Panels
